Out of the many things you can do for Christmas in Oklahoma, there's yet another event to add to the list this weekend. Instead of just walking through a light display, the Trail of Cheer gives everyone - of all ages - a variety of fun (and sometimes scary) things to do.

It's opening weekend for the Trail of Cheer at the Trail of Fear.  Instead of scares and haunts, the Trail is all decorated in everything Christmas. Visitors are able to do some caroling on the Caroling Hay Ride, or hope on the Children's Candy Cane Train ride.

Opening Weekend Discounts Available For Local Communities

This weekend specifically, the Trail of Cheer has a special going for the local communities. Dec. 13 and 14, residents from Lawton, Walters, Geronimo, Elgin and Cache will get 25% off of their all admission tickets (at box office only, not available online).

The next weekend, everyone from Duncan, Marlow, Chickasha and as far as Wichita Falls will be able to visit and receive the same discount. Remember - the discount is applied at the ticket booth when you arrive!

What Is The Trail of Cheer?

Usually during the Halloween season, the Trail of Fear's escape rooms are themed for scare-lovers. But during the holiday season, the escape rooms are a bit on the brighter side.

This year, the Trail of Cheer is also offering a different kind of Christmas experience with Scrooge. Starting on Dec. 13, folks can follow along Scrooge's Night of Enlightenment - something tells me this will be perfect for those who crave a good thrill.

On top of the experiences, the Trail of Cheer will have their gift shop open with souvenirs, s'mores, hot cocoa, coffee, apple cider and even a chance to visit Mr. and Mrs. Clause.

Every Oklahoma 90s Kid Remembers These Christmas Things

I can't believe Millennials have grown to an age of nostalgia where they can't stop talking about how great their own childhoods were. While I may consider myself an Elder Millennial who lived through the 80s, every Oklahoma Millennial woke up Christmas morning with one or more of these under the tree.
