What’s the Best Fourth of July Sports Moment Ever? — Sports Survey of the Day
Most Americans spend the Fourth of July enjoying the relaxation of a day off from work, basking in warm summer weather and, perhaps, watching a brilliant fireworks show.
In most cases, the sports world pauses along with the rest of the country on July 4 to celebrate the nation’s birth and applaud the anniversary of its independence.
Occasionally, however, a memorable sports moment will occur on the Fourth of July.
Whether it’s an incredible individual performance or the effort of a motivated team, some great sports moments have occurred on the nation’s birthday. Over the years, we’ve seen amazing performances, whether it’s Dave Righetti tossing a no-no for the New York Yankees in 1983 or Jack Johnson holding onto his heavyweight title in a 1910 bout with James J. Jeffries.
So, put down that burger and beer for a minute and let us know what your favorite sports moment is.
