Here We Go Again: Extreme Heat and Severe Weather On Tap for Oklahoma
It's going to be another hot and stormy week for Oklahoma. Severe storms will start us off this week, then we'll move into a few days of excessive heat before things settle down for the weekend.
It's been a wild July for Oklahoma. We've had some extremely hot days and plenty of severe weather. This past weekend definitely tops the severe weather days for Oklahoma. Early Sunday morning, almost the whole state experienced heavy rain, hail and high winds - some areas were hit harder than others.
Even the wildlife were no match for Sunday's early morning storms. Several Oklahomans woke up to find hundreds of dead or injured birds.

Severe storms will impact southwest Oklahoma this evening.
Our first chance of severe weather this week will be tonight, Monday, July 10. Severe storms are possible during the evening and overnight hours and could bring large hail and damaging winds.
As it has been with the last several rounds of severe storms, northwest Oklahoma will be impacted first before the storms make their way south.
Back to summer temperatures this week in Oklahoma.
We've had some great days recently with temperatures topping out in the 80s. But we'll be back into those 100 degree days this week. Tuesday will kick us off with high heat indexes with Lawton predicted to reach 106 degrees. NO THANK YOU.
And thanks to all the rain, we'll have a hot and muggy week before we cool back down for the weekend.
