Crazy Critters of Oklahoma: National Pet Day

Today is National Pet Day! Our listeners sent in their photos of their fur-babies, we just had to share them!

Sammie

John Beemer shared his photo of Sammie, the family pet initially meant for his daughter, who unfortunately passed away. Sammie is known for "chasing a laser across the yard like a cat," Beemer said.

Liberty, Zareph, and Caelia

As you can tell, "Little Liberty" has no sense of "personal space" with her four-legged sibling, Zareph. Amber Largent also shared her favorite photo with us with their third pet, Caelia. It's safe to say Amber's blessed with some gentle giants.

Scott Pinion

Okay, who wouldn't want to look as cool as Scott Pinion's pet?

Bogey

Stephanie Brown shared with us her pet, Bogey, who we can all agree is as cute as cute can get.

Becky Hamby

Thank you, Becky Hamby, for sharing your pets. Try not to be too jealous of just how comfortable her first pet looks!

Clyde, Suede, Booger and Hondo

Kacei Eyler has her hands full with her crew; apparently, Clyde isn't cutting anyone any breaks. Although such a cutie, Kaci says that Clyde enjoys bullying her German Shepard, Suede.

Rebel & Munchkin

With this pair, you can see size doesn't matter when it comes to who runs the show. According to Samantha Daniels, Munchkin "can be feisty, but yet so cute!"

Steven Bolan

Molly, Huck, and Pebbles 

Travis Bennett shared with us a little about his beautiful pets: "Left is Molly. She is a Standard Moyen poodle who came to us last October. She was abandoned on Fort Sill at 12 weeks old and had a broken leg," he said. Luckily a friend was out hunting and brought her to us. She is pretty feisty and keeps the other two busy with her puppy energy. Center Front is Huck. He is a 2-year-old Standard Poodle We got him at 8 weeks old. He is the "Peacekeeper" of the 3. Right is Pebbles, she is a 3-year-old Golden Doodle who we got at 8 weeks old. She loves swimming and is a certified therapy dog. She makes weekly visits to the Hospitals and courthouse to make people smile."

Kia and Chica

Darren Beaver told us about how he came to have his two couch potatoes: "our boy Boxer is named Kia - we adopted him from a friend I know," he said. "Our girl pit is Chica Hope, she is a rescue from the streets in Wichita Falls."

Ashley Rees

Ashley Rees shared with her gorgeous pup, a Cane Corso. Because of their size, Cane Corso's are often known as "small horses" - little did anyone that Ashley has a pet even bigger, kicking off our "Not Your Typical Pets" section.

Meet Ashley's LITERAL horse, Willow!

Now THAT is what we call a cool pet! Svenja shared with us her other pet, Princess Peach, that is nowhere near the Mario character; she's just as beautiful, though!

Svenja also has a gorgeous black German Shepard, Belladonna.
