Floridians Approve & Agree That The Country’s BEST Chili Is in Tulsa, Oklahoma
How far would you go for your favorite food? A couple of Floridians traveling along historic Route 66 found themselves coming through Oklahoma. While here, they were told that the best chili in the country was right under their noses in Tulsa, Oklahoma. And, according to them, "no one was lying."
Floridians try (and approve) chili from Oklahoma's oldest restaurant.
Two visitors, Crystal and Johnathan, recently stopped by the oldest known restaurant in Oklahoma, Ike's Chili, to try their nationally-known chili. They were briefly interviewed about their experience and their words spoke volumes about Oklahoma's food. "We had to stop in here, we heard they have the best chili here," Crystal told the camera, "and I have to say... it is the best."
Ike's Chili has their own kind of "krabby patty formula" that is kept secret.
It's hard not believe the rumors of Ike's having the best chili when you consider just how long that the restaurant has been around: 117 years and counting. It's probably a combination of the talented cooks, the welcoming environment and the true novelty of having Ike's 'three-way.'
The family's dedication to keeping the secret sauce a secret also adds to the restaurant's charm. Only a handful of people know the secret recipe and they're all part of the family that started the business. They've successfully created their own "krabby patty formula" and don't plan on giving it away any time soon.
