Fort Sill’s Sounds of Freedom that you Can Actually See and Feel
There are only so many opportunities to do something that you've never done before, so you MUST take advantage of the opportunity!
Our friends at the Oklahoma Department of Veteran Affairs invited Critter, our boss, Dakota, and myself to a live fire demonstration at Fort Sill.

In the over 50 years that I have lived in Lawton/Fort Sill, I have never witnessed an actual live fire demo. We've all heard the big guns and felt them move our houses, and rattle the windows, but to see it in full glory is a thing of such beauty.
Critter wasn't able to make the trip to the training area of Fort Sill this week, but my boss Dakota and I took advantage of the invitation from ODVA. The soldiers were so informative and gracious to all of us asking questions and taking pictures. We watched as MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System) load rockets and then head to the fire site and demonstrate the awesome power of our Armed Forces. It was simply a sight to behold.
Dakota Woods:
Had a great time getting to be around the M270A1 MLRS. This unit can load, arm and fire up to 12 rockets within five minutes. Very cool machines and watching the live fire was rad! Thank you for setting this up Jeri and with the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs.

Huge shout out to all of our friends at the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs and the Lawton Veterans Center for allowing us to tag along on their invitation. It was a once-in-a-lifetime day for us!
Live Fire Demonstration
I did find out the difference between the HiMRS and MLRS. The HiMRS has wheels and the MLRS has treads like a tank. Score 100%.
