This year we're seeing more Fall colors in Lawton, Fort Sill than ever before. It's been a while since the leaves have been so vibrant and colorful. Some say it's due to all the rain and moisture we've seen this year throughout the Spring and late Summer. Whatever the reason, the trees are changing and if you're into Fall leaves you're in luck! Everywhere you look you'll see red, yellow, lime green, orange, and purple leaves.

I had to pull over this morning while driving down Cache Roa to get a quick picture. The trees/leaves in the photo are near the corner of Cache Road and Fort Sill Blvd heas you're heading East. Most of Cache Road has Fall color, it's on of the prettiest main streets in Lawton, Fort Sill. The City of Lawton did an amazing job of planting all the trees in the medians and all the different species. We're seeing the fruits of that labor now.

Most people think you have to travel to the Northeast to see colors like this. Normally when people talk about Fall leaves they always mention Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and New York. But S.W. Oklahoma has some incredible Fall leaves as well. Just take a quick trip down Cache Road and you'll see it. There's no need to go out of state or travel 1000's of miles to see Fall colors, we've got them in Lawton!

If you're really wanting to see some Fall leaves check out some of the older more established neighborhoods in Lawton, Fort Sill. One of the very best is the neighborhood between Gore Blvd. and Ferris. It's got tons of Fall color and with so many different species of trees, you'll see just about every kind, type, shape, and color.

Time's running out though. You probably only have a few more weeks to enjoy them as temperatures continue to drop the trees will become bare quickly. So take some time, maybe this weekend to load up the car and take a quick drive around Lawton, Fort Sill. You could do that before the "Holiday in the Park" parade this Saturday (11-20-21).
