Tis' the season of concerts in Oklahoma. Two legendary guitarists are coming to perform live in Clinton, Oklahoma tonight, July 18.

Professional guitarists Mark and Edgar Cruz are taking the stage on Friday, July 18 at the McClain Rogers Park in Clinton, Oklahoma starting at 7:30 p.m. The show features an array of guitar styles, including spanish, classic, rock and pop music.

It's not often you and your family can be entertained by just instruments alone, but when you see this duo - singing isn't needed!

Free concerts brought to Oklahomans from Levitt AMP Clinton Music Series.

The Levitt AMP Clinton Music Series has been bringing live music to the area all summer. This Friday, they're encouraging families of all ages to come and enjoy a unique performance from two of Oklahoma's very own.

While much of the state listens to the same song and dance, Clinton's music series strives to highlight different. They've brought acts performing spanish music, indie-folk, smooth jazz and many more genres outside of the typical country/red dirt vibes.

Who Is Mark and Edgar Cruz?

Edgar Cruz is a intricate guitarist from Norman, Oklahoma. He's proven himself to be one of the best in the industry over the years, being asked to perform over 300 times a year around the world.

"He has been a headliner at the prestigious Chet Atkins Guitar Festival every July in Nashville since 1995 and has been a strong icon at major art & music festivals in Oklahoma since the late 70's," according to his bio.

Mark Anthony Cruz has also earned some prestige since he's started his career. He not only graduated college in a degree in Guitar Performance from Texas State, but he has also had his own works published by Shawnee Press, Soundboard Magazine, MelBay and Clear Note Publications.

Since his degree is in Guitar Performance, it shouldn't surprise anyone of his success. According to his biography, "Cruz placed 1st in the 2013 Winfield International Fingerstyle Competition. He was a feature artist at the Eastfield Guitar Festival in Dallas, TX in 2008; Classical Minds Guitar Festival in Houston, TX in 2009 and '14; Brownsville Guitar Ensemble Festival and Competition in 2014; Dr. Joseph Williams' Classical Guitar Conference in 2017 and at Dr. Isaac Bustos' Houston Classical Guitar Workshop in 2016 and '17."

Long story short, and credentials included: these gentleman know how to put on a show.

Tickets aren't needed, just your family, friends and a lawn chair or blanket for good seats at the outdoor ampitheater.
