New Store Coming to the Corner of Sheridan & Smith in Lawton, OK.

You've probably seen all the construction going on between Stripes and Family Dollar on the corner of Sheridan Road and Smith in Lawton, Fort Sill. We stopped by earlier today to check it out and look around.

If you've driven past it over the past couple of weeks I'm sure like us you're wondering what's going in there. Construction crews are currently preparing the site and getting all the dirt work finalized to start building.

It's been an empty lot for years, but soon there will be a new business opening. Everyone has been taking guesses at what will be coming to the corner of Sheridan and Smith. A new restaurant, retailer, or office?

Hopefully, God help us it's not another carwash or dispensary. I think we have enough of those in town. Lately, it seems every time something new is being built, it turns out to be a carwash. They're everywhere.

Luckily this time we're about 99.99% sure it's not a carwash or dispensary. From what we're hearing it's going to be a Dollar General. At least that's the BIG RUMOR online and elsewhere we keep hearing over and over.

Although it hasn't been officially and 100% confirmed yet. Somewhat, fairly reliable sources close to the project claim it's going to be a new Dollar General store. Hey, at least it isn't another carwash or dispensary.
