Oklahoma Losing Another Dog Park & Pub in Oklahoma City

Earlier this year, a popular dog park in Oklahoma City, known as Bar-K, closed their doors, changed their locks, and left their members confused and upset. Allegedly, the owners shutdown the business without a word to their employees, customers, members or anyone.

A neighboring dog park who'd been assisting patrons who were members of Bar-K looks to be closing their doors, as well. As staff from the "Don't Stress Meowt" Cat Cafe stated, "One thing after another that we love will continue to fail if we aren’t deliberate in our support."

Here's a brief update about the Bar-K shutdown and the last efforts that Oklahoma's small business supporters can give to another dog park closing their doors.

Solo's Park & Pub in Oklahoma City closing their doors at the end of this week.

Per their announcement on Monday, December 22, Solo's Park and Pub will have their last day of business on December 28. Instead of grieving the ending of a unique business, the owners would like to encourage Oklahomans everywhere to come celebrate as they close the new year.

"Grab some great food, share a laugh, give a belly a scratch, take a photo, tell us your favorite memory," they said.

Solo's had a similar concept as the Bar-K dog park, encouraging patrons to come and let their dogs loose while enjoying beers, company, and games. Despite the novelty, it seems that there just wasn't enough traction for the concept to succeed in Oklahoma City.

Brief update from Bar-K owners unfortunately doesn't have many answers.

Solo's attempted to help customers who'd previously been members at Bar-K by offering discounts while they waited for answers from Bar-K owners.

Unfortunately, the latest update for Bar-K members includes a previous statement from KOCO, which said that management was "working on different benefits for those who are out money because of their subscriptions."
