Anyone else feeling the effects no sleep season in Oklahoma? Instead, it's late nights and "to-go" bags being prepped in case things take a turn (unless you're the OTHER kind of okie who sleeps right through the siren). Thanks to technology, many of us have plenty of heads up to get to our safe areas when a tornado is headed in our direction.

But technology has also helped some folks in Oklahoma capture the craziest views of tornadoes that we've ever seen. Below are our top 3 picks of the wildest scenes that have blessed the internet.

#3 Tornado Titans Capture Footage of Garvin County Tornado Near Katie, Oklahoma

In 2016, an intense EF4 tornado developed near Katie, Oklahoma. A group of storm chasers, the Tornado Titans, captured insane footage of the monster tornado. The craziest part of the video is seeing just how close several drivers came to the tornado, and they seemed to still keep driving towards it.

One of the largest risks of storm chasing that amateurs face is not having the knowledge to know if a tornado is headed away or towards them. Professionals use radars and experience to guide their decisions and in this case, things could've easily turned deadly.

#2 Workers in Owasso Capture Tornado Tearing Through The Town From Underneath

A video captured by one of the workers at the Whirlpool plant in Owasso, Oklahoma shows the moments that a tornado tore through the town. While the tornado did toss semi trailers in the plant's parking lot, the building itself sustained minimal damage.

We listed this video as our number two spot due to the fact that workers were warned about the tornado by fire alarm, instead of by siren. The confused, mixed with the fear they were probably feeling hearing all of the screeching metal and howling winds above, was heart-pumping to say the least. Fortunately, no one was injured by the tornado.

#1:  David Evans Circling A Landspout While In A Glider

A one-of-a-kind video that has begun resurfacing during tornado season is one of pilot David Evans. In 2021, a landspout spun up near Tuttle, Oklahoma. While Evans was in his motorglider, he captured some incredible footage of the phenomenon while circling it.

It's important to remember that tornadoes and landspouts can be two separate things, but they can also happen at the same time. In this case, the landspout did reach windspeeds that would equate to a weak tornado, but it didn't come from a rotating storm the way actual tornadoes do.

When it comes to the topic of tornadoes, Oklahoma is universally known around the world for producing some of the biggest, including the last F6 ever measured... but it'd probably surprise most Okies that the Sooner State doesn't even crack the top five of the most tornado-prone counties in America.
