Each year, this event grows more and more in several different towns in Oklahoma (follow their group to see all of their schedules) - the Castle of Muskogee is gearing up for their fair in May. Tickets can be purchased here.

Tips for first time goers:

1. Stay calm and take your time.

2. Be prepared for spontaneity. Random sword fights and royalty passing by happen without warning - those at the faire are connected to the medieval times and truly stay in character during the event.

3. Bring cash - not all vendors accept credit card. A reusable shopping bag may also be a wise choice to carry along.

4. Engage and keep an open mind. According to themainefaire.com, "the faire is a street theatre at best and you're part of the show." So delve into character and have fun with it!
