The Highlanders had a lot to prove, or so it seemed to those looking from outside the program, after winning by just two points the week before in Altus. For those around town the question was asked "What happened?" Was there something to be concerned about with MacArthur? So Big Mac hosted their 3rd district game with something to prove to the hometown crowd against the Duncan Demons who were coming in with just a 1-4 record.

The Highlanders on the other hand were 5-0 and wasted no time by taking the ball down to the Demon 20 on their first position only to fumble the ball, something the Highlanders did not do just the week prior with 7 turnovers coming from the Altus Bulldogs.

The Demons capitalized on the Mac turnover and on a 3rd and long found a wide open lane down the middle and a 80 yard touchdown run and a quick 7-0 lead early in the contest.

Was this going to be quick preview of last years up and down scoring at will type game?

The quick answer was NO. In fact, when the Highlanders got started up they never looked back and Duncan did not score again until late in the 4 quarter. The big game performance came from quarterback Will Collins who went 17-22 for 317 yards and 3 TD's one by land, one by air and one by a half back pass from Deion James to a wide open Will Collins in the end zone.

When all said and done the boys from up on the hill extended their undefeated season to 6-0 with a 56-14 final over their long time rivals from the east. The Highlanders are now 3-0 in the district and it looks to set up what could be for the district championship game next week in Ardmore Thursday night during fall break across the state.

We will be broadcasting the game live and bring you all the play by play. Continue this exciting ride with us as you will find My team on My station MY 1073!
