Back in 1969, one of the most iconic music festivals, Woodstock, brought together people from all over the country to celebrate peace and music.

Nearly 87 years later, one of Oklahoma's healing communities is hosting another festival for love: love of animals and music. This Saturday, June 15, 2024, the streets of Medicine Park, Oklahoma will be lined full of dog-lovers celebrating a new event called Woofstock.

If you've ever wanted your pet to have a spa day, this is as close to everything you want all in one place. Share the spotlight with a pet costume parade or try something new and beautiful with your pet by making artwork with them. How often do you take professional photos of or with your animal? At Woofstock, they'll have a professional photographer to do the job.

Some animals get treated better than people treat themselves and June 15th is the perfect day to do so for your pet. Different local businesses will be offering pet massages, grooming and nail trimmings and even a low-cost vaccination clinic hosted by Lawtonka Veterinary Hospital.

The event is being organized by the Comanche County Pet Resource Foundation, who provides funds and opportunities for animal-owners in Comanche County in Oklahoma. Not only are they known for assisting with vet bills, they have also provided free or low cost programs for low-income Oklahomans.

Bring your pups, your family, heck, just bring yourself. You'll be supporting those who help pet owners in Oklahoma and experiencing an event unlike any other.

Oklahoma's Best 4th of July Celebrations

There's nothing like celebrating America's independence in the heartland, and Oklahoma practically overflows with patriotism across the state. While most towns have their own celebrations, some are larger than others. Since it would be hard to catch all of them in one day, they're spread out a bit over two and a half weeks, pick one or more and let your American flag fly.
